Yes, despite its silly title, "The Secret History of Las Vegas" is the best Las Vegas documentary I have seen on TV, and I thank Michael Ludwig and his Cheque TV column for leading me to it.
The posting brings to mind what I consider the best gambling and chip-related movie I have ever seen, and it is available for $17 from Amazon.com, and others I would assume. It is "Any Number Can Play" (1949), starring Clark Gable, as the owner of a high class gambling club, and a very impressive cast. The personal story of Gable's character’s family life may be tepid, but the movie really delivers to gambling and chip enthusiasts. It is chock full of gambling house scenes, cheating schemes, many views of gambling equipment, attitudes about gambling and of winners, losers and gambling house proprietors and their views of each other. There is much discussion of character, morality and propriety. It ends with an exciting craps game with Gable's gambling house at steak. You will enjoy it. Link below is to Amazon.com page for the film.
