Re: ANOTHER PERSPECTIVE
In Response To: Re: ANOTHER RESPONSE ()

Trav, I would tend to agree on most of your points, as to what is ethical and/or acceptable human behavior. However, let me offer another perspective. Based on second hand information I have heard about a fellew chipper who shall remain nameless (John Benedict), it is my understanding that this person, when selling a high value chip, never sells a chip for less than what he has sold a previous chip for. Regardless of what is "ethical," there is a certain disappointment at being the first to buy a high dollar chip and then learn later that the seller has "made his profit" and is now dumping the rest at fire sale prices. A smart buyer, once burned, may be shy to step up to the plate early next time. As much as I'd like to be there for the fire sale, and as much right as a person has to sell what they have for whatever deals they want to make, I admire and respect a person who chooses to operate at a higher personal moral level. It is this kind of person I will always opt to deal with first.
