I don't remember reading any message that was a personal attack on you. Opposition to your ideas as being adapted as a universal system aren't personal.

There isn't a "Universal Numbering System" for ANYTHING on this planet because nobody controls the way everyone views things and their value. Your own auction example would lead a beginning collector to STAY in the hobby by knowing by the description what he might be bidding on BY having a description of the item (your 1st example).

The more expensive the simple end of a hobby becomes (incorporating more costs to regional book authors and passing that onto the potentional book buyer with a higher cost), the more you will discourage the new collector.
