My reno newspaper has a story this morning about a new virus. With all the benign viruses and virus hoaxes going around lately, is easy to dismiss these things, until you've really been bit. This one deletes files and generally messes up your computer. Heads up!
DO NOT OPEN AN ATTACHMENT ON AN EMAIL UNLESS YOU ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY KNOW WHO SENT IT AND WHY!!! Reading mail cannot infect your computer. Opening attachments can - including Zip, Doc and many others.
Worm.Explore.Zip arrives with a friendly message, "Hi (recipient name)! I received your email and I shall send you a reply ASAP. Till then, take a look at the attached zipped docs." Because the virus sends this to someone you have just received email from, it looks like a legitimate message.
Please, friends, practice safe computing.
