They may be in the future Archie, but the way I see this hobby in its current form, the individual efforts made by those that have already taken the time and efforts to catalog casino chips with the authors' own systems of numbering, in what is really just the dawn of the electronic age, should be allowed to catalog them in a manner that is both easy for them to do AND will give them credit for their involvement in doing so. I don't want to see a Black's #XXXX be rendered into a number that'd obscure your efforts, nor would I want to see Allen Banick, Gary Johnson, Greg Susong, Steve Piccolo, KMW, or anyother publisher of this information discouraged from doing what you all have done.
History is involved here. Not just with what we collect, but also who finds it, and takes the time to describe it in print for us all. You pioneers deserve your numbering systems to remain universal for your arenas.
....just my opinion,
Bob
