I don't think that ANY proposed universal numbering system can be applied to each and every geographical gaming jurisdiction that will be successful.... IF it does not have the support of the collector who is expected to easily grasp and utilize such systems. Most of these systems presently being proposed are designed by those and for those who have access to computers. Some day, most everyone will have to own one. They will be as commonplace in the home as the telephone or t.v. is today. I don't know if anyone can tell us how far down the road we are away from that day. Personally, I like the systems which have letter prefixes that partially identify the casino, followed by a number designating the denomination. A long series of confusing combinations of numbers and letters, similar to what John B. has exaggerated in his example, will leave most collectors very uninterested in adapting to it... in my opinion. It should be an interesting symposium at the convention. I hope that many, many, collectors will be able to attend. I know personally, that a lot of work by the year-old committee has gone into this presentation. We owe our cumulative attention, ideas and opinions to the presenters.
