That's my point. I don't think Jim should give up his table. My point was IF there were more applications for tables submitted ON TIME than the club had available, would not people that have had a table in the past have preference? I think that is what my application for a table stated in so many words. I think so, and rightly so! I don't think I am comparing apples and oranges, we are talking about equal rights, and no club member being more important than another.

Also, you posted on another public forum (Casino) that I must think I am one of the organizers the way I am talking. I don't think that I have ever stated that I am one of the organizers. However, I am looking at a copy of Bob Pardues request for commitments from players to see if there was enough to fill ONE TABLE! I was the fourth one to respond to his post and said "absolutely count me in". I have never said that I did any more than make a personal commitment to play, so that we could be guaranteed one full table!

Also, no one is trying to change the sign up rules at this late date. We have given up on that long ago. We are just trying to work within the framework of the rules, to make it convenient for the many people that are having serious conflicts with the 1:00 sign up time to have a chance to play.

Thanks to all of you who have responded to me privately. Thanks for the many who have offered to hold my wife's place in line while she takes an occasional break.

With the Convention Tables, the ones that know what the rules are and are organized enough to know their plans, and get their applications in on time, get their tables. Those of us that know the rules and get organized will get their poker seat. HOPEFULLY, the Orleans will be able to accommodate more than 40 players, and everyone that wants to can play. There are just people that would like to know before 11:00 on Thursday night if they are going to have a seat.

A couple of other points in you post about me that went public…. You said that "wouldn't it be ironic if there are not even get 40 people that want to play!" Archie, do you care to make a friendly wager??? You pay me $100 if at least 40 people sign up, and I will pay you $200 if less than 40 want to play. Additionally, If you were referring to me when you stated that one of the names you previously mentioned was not even a member as of April 1, Nor was his "associate wife". If you will read my post earlier in this thread, I state that "I plan to sign up my wife as an associate member at the convention", and see a scan below of my current membership card. That is another example of the beauty of the "computer age". There is no reason that the President of a National Organization like ours should have to be relying on 3 month old information!

Again everyone, thanks for the support and keep the scans of the membership cards coming. We are abiding by the rules and that still is not good enough for some.

Archie, again I have deep respect for what you and the many others that have made this club have done to make it what it is. I am only in my 3rd year with the club, but as I understand it we are all to be treated equally. I hope this has not become personal with you, because it hasn't become that way with me. In fact I will buy you drinks all night with the $100 I will win from you if you accept my wager proposal!
