It is human nature... that which we can understand, we trivialize. That which we cannot understand, we ridicule.

Another aspect of human nature is that we can look objectively at everything but ourselves. A liver or a muscle is a thing, a part of us yet separate. The mind embodies what we are, who we are, what we perceive ourselves to be.

Intellect, sexuality, spirituality... these are things not easily disected. The truth too many people seek to deny is: that which we find ourselves least able to tolerate in others is indeed the very same which we are least able to forgive of ourselves.

To chip or not to chip, THAT is the question!
