What a shame that Charismatic broke down in the stretch. Bum leg & all he still managed to Show! From early reports that I read, the injury is not life threatening & he is likely to spend the remaining years of his life on a stud farm. I have my damn hip replaced, can't attend the convention due to unreasonable demands at the office, & my wife says she has a headache!! Sometimes it doesn't pay to wake up early in the morning. I & my fellow Florida chipper saw the race while the day cruise ship we sailed on had just come into port. He knew what horse he had, but for the life of me, I couldn't remember my horses name. He kept asking me & I had no idea until I got home a few minutes ago. The "OFFICIAL" winner was Lemon Drop Kid which ran from post position 6 which was "randomly chosen" by me. The horse paid $65.50 for a $2 win ticket. Hey THAT'S ME!!!! I guess there really is a Santa. I swear that I had no idea this horse even had a shot & never bet the race. Thanks to all that
participated. I can't wait for the running of the Jamaican Appleton Handicap in 2 weeks. From all reports there are some real great entries.
By the way, the older ship we sailed on had the same old rack of chips.
