I view with interest the passage of these two measures. There seems to be no end to the complexity that people will force on the operators of a few simple games. In Missouri, unless you're Indian, you must be on water within 1000 ft of the river (or lake in other states in the Mississippi drainage). In California, Indians can have slot machines but can't house bank the table games. In Washington, you can't have slots (although some very good simulations with electronic bingo, pull tabs and keno exist) but the house does bank the table games. In New York & Florida you have to get on a boat and go offshore. Absolutely amazing!! Am I just getting old, or do I detect a certain hypocrisy here?
Oh well, the good news is that when the Nevada gaming industry collapses (as predicted by opponents to Prop 5) our friends Gene Trimble, Chuck Smorse and others in Nevada will be able to find jobs in Missouri. <VBG>
