If everyone would support a general overall push of the hobby to the outside world we would gain many more collectors. I have always supported "outside" promotion. I have always believed the CC & GTCC should spend a "buck" and place ads in different magazines. My beliefs differ with the present administration about "how much" and "where" funds should be spent.

If one listens to Archie we are broke or on the verge of being broke. If we should spend a buck we would not have any funds for an emergency! Yeah!, Right!
$15.00 to $50.00 for the year for outside promotion is not my idea of excessive promotion.

In addition, I just remembered how upset I was about our club's last published financial statements (Volume 11. #2) Where was promotion expense? I'll bet it was merged with another expense and accidently lost it's identity.

I guess that's what happens when someone questions WHY more money is not being spent to promote our hobby.

This issue has been taken by "others" who are running for club office and made to sound like it is their idea. It isn't!!! David Sarles and Janice O'Neal have been advocating that funds be spent for "Club Promotion" as long as I have been a member of the organization. Don't let others try to fool you - members who follow the issues and debate know the truth.

Until our hobby is brought to the attention of the outside world it will not grow as fast as it should. Our current board can list several publications, etc. trying to establish how our hobby is being carried by them to the outside world. Next time you hear all that "hogwash" ask them -how much was spent???? I bet the subject gets changed. They love to take credit for outside support as long as it didn't cost anything. Let's be honest - You only get what you pay for.

I know Sarles and O'Neal, Pincus, Weintraub and Steffner will DO something about it. They believe like many of our members that a budget for outside promotion must be established and properly spent to help the hobby grow.
