Thanks for an intelligent post John. We have known each other a long
time! I remember those days of running around! It got tiring so I had
to write a book! Maybe these new comers on here will realize, even though
I am probably the youngest serious collector on here, but I am an
"old timer" to this relatively "new" hobby. We need more like you
on this board. Apparently way too many closed minds with nothing
else to do but criticize a "work" that they have not seen. This
acting is ridiculous. I am sure the reason the board hasn't said
anything is that they haven't seen the book either. Of all the
people on here Perlowski & Averill got books early on from our
first shipment. A book was sent to Susong also. I know the
intelligent business minded new upcoming officers well & we have had lengthy
discussion (NEVER ABOUT OUR GRADING SYSTEM)& we all want the same thing.
That is to promote "OUR" hobby! I know this to be your goal too. By the way I saw your ads in a lot of antique mag's while traveling down South getting
this book printed. Also saw listings for our club in some. One
needs an update as has us listed twice with different addresses.
I will take care of that as I am sending flyers to dealers across
the country. We made 10,000 flyers & have ads in 4 major publications.
I believe our book promoting which will help club promoting will
be one of the biggest promotions of our club yet! Speaking
of club promoting this BOB ORME is listed on page 21 of our club news
as Publicity Chairman. I am told no advertising has yet to be seen
in Vegas. I am worried deeply about the local advertising this year.
I will hope to have a news crew coming as a friend heads one. Wayne of course welcomed that. Last years response to having news wasnt as openly
accepted I felt when I brought it up & therefore I didn't attempt any further.
This year they will be welcome with badges! We have a huge adv. program
for the book set up & more will know about our hobby soon. Hopefully
the membership will start growing yearly & our hobby will boom.
Does all this make sense to anyone? Positive comments welcome.
John, Steve Wells & I look forward to talking more to you at the
show & he looks forward to meeting you.
Sincerely, James Campiglia
