Hi Janice,
I love ya, you are one of my favorite people involved in this hobby.
No one that I know of is trying to disrupt the convention. It WILL be a great time for all!
Discussion of what are real differences in opinion of club issues don't seem to go very far on the CC & GTCC BB. Lee posted his note. Mark posted another note telling how they handle local membership.
Call the Colorado and Florida national non-member what you want, but they are all collectors. They may be the purest collectors that you'll ever meet. They want contact with other collectors. They join the locals to meet regularly with fellow locals. IF national wants to discourage involvement at the local level by forcing every local chapter to tell their members "Our dues are $10 a year, but you HAVE to join another club at $20 a year", you will lose local chapters, Colorado probably the first.
This is not my idea, but sentiment seemed to be against being bullied by a group that hasn't shown Colorado collectors a good reason for belonging to national other than they said so. We're already at least 90% anyway! Please consider Colorado a "Right to Collect-Right to Join" state.
The CC & GTCC isn't a labor union. It shouldn't be run like one.
CC & GTCC is described as a "The largest sub-chapter" of the ANA as I have read. Did I miss something?!?
