According to this week's "WHOOT" A.C.'s Casino/Entertainment paper... the following article was published regarding the LeJardin Casino to be built by Steve Wynn:
"HURON TRACT REMEDIATION PROGRAM UNDERWAY"
The Tishman Corp., overseers of the construction work for Mirage's Le Jardin, is taking bids for the remediation work on the Huron redevelopment tract, site of LeJardin and Boyd's casino hotel.
Bid package #1 has been submitted, and the bidders are awiating the awarding of the contract, which should be within two weeks.... it entails covering the entire former landfill site with three feet of dirt..... this will require 100 trucks working ten hours a day six days a week for ten to twelve months to encompass the entire site... it is anticipated the process will need 150 employees.
Bid package #2 is for dynamic compaction and wick.... this begins as the land is covered... a crane with a 20 ton weight will raise the weight 100 feet into the air and drop it on the dirt to compact it and the trash below it. Wicks are then placed in the ground, and water stored in the ground will seep up through them.... this process should be completed by next September, when it is anticipated that pile-driving work will begin to allow for the actual construction of LeJardin by November or December (1999).
Does anybody still think that Paulson has already made the chips for this new casino that won't be open until 2004??? Wha cha smokin' pal?
