I don't know if it is the same stuff but I have purchased a gold leaf restorer at craft stores that is a waxy paste that works very well on picture frames. I don't know why it would not work on chips but I also don't know what the purists would say. I guess I would worry about someone using it to restore the gold leaf on that $200. hot stamped chip and selling it as "like new". I don't see the harm in bringing out the detail in a $2 poker chip though.
