Hi John M; John B. answered your basic question as to why there are "only" 2000 members in the club. Every year there is a relatively high number of "dropouts" who do not renew their dues. Over the years those numbers previously assigned are not re-assigned to new members. Each new member is assigned his/her own club membership number. While 2000 members may not seem like a lot to some folks, it is a testament to our ability to attract and recruit new club members to replace the old ones who choose not to renew for whatever reason. So in that sense, the club is still growing appreciably. Two thousand members in our club is still quite a large number compared to other similar hobby clubs. Are there clubs larger??? Sure; we've never claimed to be the biggest.... although we are the biggest specialty club of all the clubs under the American Numismatic Association umbrella.. Hope this helps explain your "why" question. I'm sure that there are others have wondered the same thing. Archie
