Yes, Brad, the Chip-In is kind of a dump. But I think nearly all the "Northwoods" indian casinos started as wretched little places. The tribe, usually dirt poor, would put up a bare-bones concrete block structure (or in the case of Bad River on the edge of Lake Superior in Wisconsin, a two story log cabin) and put a bunch of slots and a few blackjack tables in it. When the cash rolled in, they patched the roof on the grade school, finally got electricity for the clinic, and paved the dirt road. But after a while, the cash allowed them to upgrade the facility with a real casino building, add a hotel for tourism and clean up all the rough spots. Chip-In just seems to be several years behind. Heck, they may be the last ones still using Langworthy chips on the tables. At least for a little while. It may be wretched, but you could think of it as nostalgic, if you squit a bit during your look at their operation.
Not that an upgrade won't be nice to see.
