Re: Porcelain Chips/ Markers ?
In Response To: Porcelain Chips/ Markers ? ()

Jim: I have a couple; dealer said they were from Siam [when it was Siam] and that seems confirmed by Dale Seymour in his Antique Gambling Chips book where on page 13 he shows some of them and says they "were made and used in Thailand and perhaps elsewhere in Asia in the 19th centure. One report dates their manufactture as during 1761-1870 * * *. The collector should beware when purchasing these counters, as modern reproductions are hard to distinguish from the original counters."
