While I can see your point concerning minimums in some areas, they just don't hold true in others. Also, offering an item as an auction lot IS offering to sell the item.

I've seen a $100 chip that couldn't be obtained anyother way than paying $100 for it at the casino sell at a "no minimum auction" for $90. I've seen a $5 chip from a closed casino sell at face value at a "no minimum auction", and the chip I traded for the same $5 chip, I couldn't find at ANY dealer table at the convention for less than $50.

I have eight lots in this auction. Only one is above low book. The rest are all at least 20% under low book price guides. I didn't buy any of them (save the one lot that has a bid) new at the casino, they're all chips that I have already invested more than face value. In some cases, WELL more than face value.

I collect, and I invest. I HAVE to protect some of my investment chips with a minimum bid. I couldn't possibly put a scarce $1 chip that cost me several hundred dollars up for grabs at no minimum.
