I don't know how many of you get Casino Player. I just received this month's issue. There is an insert with various casino related items. Included are 2 picture frames; one that will hold 25 chips and one that will hold 9 chips. The interesting part is that with the 25 chip frame they say they will include "20 assorted chips and denominations in hard to find mint condition". They leave room for the buyer to add 5 of his own chips. The chips pictured are mostly current $1 chips including Arizona Charlies, Bally',s Fiesta (think of how any chips Gene could sell) and a number of other casinos. The real interesting thing is that they are selling the frame, with 20 chips for $29.95. If they give 20 $1 chips, how can they make a profit?
The smaller frame sells for $19.95 and include 5 of the 9 chips.
This could be a great place for the club to consider advertising or at least having Casino Player do an article. Archie, if you want, I will contact them to see if they are interested in doing a story on chip collecting.
Sorry for the long post. Just got carried away with the idea.
