For those of you who were concerned about the condition of our fellow chipper and Good Will Ambassador Vernon Blanck, he is finally home after being hospitalized from a rather nasty car accident.

I have been talking with him and he is recovering well. His only complaint is that he can't get his walking exercises outside due to the torential flooding here in Houston!

He was very moved by the fruit basket Archie had sent by the club. I know there has been alot of talk about promotion (and I'm all for new members), but I think it is equally important to keep the members we presently have happy. Acts such as looking after sick members is one thing to promote the "family and friends" attitude which is important to me. Keeping a life member is more important than a here-today-gone-tomorrow new member.
