Jim I wouldn't know a CA chip, being sold as a Nevada chip. It's only those out there, who do the checking and research, that bring these mistakes to light.
I still have faith that most people selling chips, believe what they are describing as location, according to their best information. If not, than smack their fingers with a ruler, and correct the attribution.
You don't know how many times, people offer me chips from MN or Michigan as a Wisconsin chip. I don't think they are trying to pull any tricks, but just don't know. Now these are all issues from the last 15 years, and mistakes are made.
Imagine trying to figure out if it's a card room from the 40's or Nevada casino with the same name from the 50's or a card room from the 60's? It does take research, and information, that isn't easily available to someone in the Middle-West.
