Here's the reason the bids on the Bugsy chip on eBay dropped. Apparently there were two bidders competing for the chip in several different lots. Late yesterday, this note was added in the list of bidders:

Explanation: Just lost my Job today.

The one lot that sold went for about $40 and others are now about $7-10. Apparently the whole readership of the WSJ was not involved in the mania; just two guys, one of whom is now out of money <g>. Email ID was removed to protect the unemployed.
