John, there are chip collectors at gaming. I am aware of several. I doubt that they keep the notched version of turned down chips. I really don't see that they would have more access to any older chips, than we would.
Good story. One of the Laughlin river run chips, I think 2 years ago. Had a girl on a motorcycle in a string bikini, frontal view on the front, back view on the back. Chip produced and one side was turned down, the back, too much cheek. They had to scramble to re-produce the chip with an acceptable back side, in time for release.
Alantis Reno bowling chip last year was produced with the saying "You need big balls to bowl in Reno" when gaming seen the notched version, guess what they said. NOT IN NV. Another scramble to get the chip out on time. I think this one should have been caught in the art stage.
