Hi Jim,
I am sure you would have better understood the endless thread about Rene's chip had it been YOU who gave him your hard earned $175.00 for a chip you believed to have come from Fallon, Nevada.
Believe me - I do not enjoy these type of discussions. If you paid any attention at all you would have noticed I waited and waited for someone else to say something about the chip being from California. No one did.
Each time someone posts a chip for sale claiming to come from someplace but it doesen't, makes me sick inside. Why? Because I believe if anything can hurt this hobby - that sort of business practice will. No one likes being taken. Being taken is, in my opinion, the reason we loose many new chippers.
Sellers of chips should research what they sell. Many do, some do not.
I have been involved in many of these type of discussions. I don't get paid to do what I do. I don't have any finacial interest in the chips that are sold. I do not sell chips. Hell, I don't even get a thank you. Yet I keep on doing it. Must be because I'm Polish.<g> or maybe it's because I'm an idiot.
I don't understand how people who wish to have "fun" with the hobby sit back and say nothing as these type of business practices take place. They leave it to people like me to say something - and than have the audacity to be critical of me for causing discontent. All the while saying to themselves "sure glad I found out about that chip before I bought it".
One day though, I'm just going to stop. I make many enemies with thoses who are selling - but few friends with those who were going to do the buying. No balance Jim - Best, Jim
