Caesars Palace Mystery Chip

Here's a pic of an oversize (44 mm) Chipco that was in an eBay auction recently. It appears to be a Caesars Palace, Las Vegas reject that was overstamped for use at the "Las Vegas Casino, Budapest". TGT lists this Hungarian casino as still in operation.

The chip has both the bust of Caesar and the name of the casino off-center on one side, which leads me to believe it was a manufacturer's defect.

I'd be interested in knowing if this $25 chip was ever actually used at Caesars, either as a promotional or possibly in a tournament. I know Caesars has frequently used oversize chips as 'free money' for invited guests, both in Las Vegas and at Tahoe.

By the way, I tried (of course) to remove the overstamp and it is beyond the scope of my chemical and mechanical processes. So it remains a "cancelled" chip, but possibly one with a Caesars Palace connection. If you think this is from a California club, James L. Perloski, I don't want to hear about it. Hungary is bad enough <g>...
