Though I've wholsaled certain rare chips to certain dealers I would trust with my bankroll, I have not made a practice of this. We have a very strong up-front agreement as to what "my" suggested retail prce would be -- (most of the time it compares with the camparison approach as to either past auctions of "TCR") and what I expect them to market the chip at. Yes, you guessed it: the same as what I'm selling it at. My reasonng for this is simple: I get the chip on the market at shoes I cannot attend; I'ts seen in person rather than in my color sales lists and the sale is on the spot.
I rarely toot my own horn, but not being at the last convention after having been in the hospital for 9-days (just mainly tests), I did exceptionally well with not only Ivory poker chips, but with Nevada chips that were only at the tables I wanted them to be at. Everyone knows the sales volume I generated, and I think it's because the collecting community knows that when I say: I only have 6 of these or a box of those, they can trust me 100%. I feel it's the best selling approach I can make.
I'm done,
JB
