John,
We all know there are dealers that has a large supply of certain chips. They have most of what is known to exist. They do not say how many. They sell what they can at a given price, then start whole saleing them out. A good example of this is the Dunes set. They were offered at $1,000 a set for some time. At the convention, I noticed many dealers with them at varing lower prices. I have a set that I traded for and am extremely happy with the trade. If I would have paid $1,000, I would be upset.
I notice in some of your posts - Trade for or sell for, and then you state how many you have. I applaude you and others that tell it like it is.
I am not naive enough to think all chippers will tell us the entire truth. If someone will not give me the full story, How can I make a decission on a fair price. Best to shop around and find out if others have the chips you want. I try to never go after a chip, that I am told a small amount exists, until I find out if only a small amount does in fact exist. The chip world is very small and information travels fast, it is easy to get, if you look for it.
I hope I am saying what I want to say.
