A private mail to Bob would do.
You're going to get very few people, if any, to your defense with name calling.
Bob is well liked around here, his strong points are spelling, grammar and a sense of humor.

Name calling will only turn people off to you.
I hope this doesn't escalate into a public bashing..

A lesson:
When you do something wrong and get caught apologize and move on.
