Gene, I respect you a great deal when it comes to chips, and I agree
with almost all of what you say about low limit poker (that you can
be a winning player, but not make a living off of it, and at best it's
an awfully slow grind), but I must disagree with what you've said about
Blackjack.

I agree that most folks who claim to be card counters are idiots and
losing players. I also agree that one should ignore people who claim
to be winning players but don't keep records.

However, it is possible to beat Blackjack by counting. It is not easy,
and it's damn near impossible to make a living doing it, but one can
play Blackjack with a positive EV. Also, one can do this without
setting off sirens, although this is not easy.

I don't expect you to believe me just because I say so, and I won't try
to convince you that this is the case. At the same time, I find it
horribly insulting that you would call everyone who claims to have made
a living at Blackjack over some period of time a liar. In my opinion,
this casts a horrible shadow over your other postings, and makes me plan
to avoid reading them if they appear to be on a topic other than chip
collecting.
