You are correct Gene and trading is the way to go. I've acquired 90% of my 3,000+ chip collection through trading. I started re-selling chips when I found it harder and harder to find chips that I needed for the requests I had for chips from Colorado.
I do think a little "defense" on my part was necessary in this instance considering the "offense" in Newbys post and due to the fact that I priced these chips so that the collector who wanted an entire set could get an entire set. Had I priced the $1 for $3 somebody would have bought my entire stock of $1's 15 minutes after I had put them up for sale. 300 $1 chips is a pretty short order especially when you consider the fact that they will be in demand by both the Colorado collector as well as car buffs from around the country.
