It's a shame that many individuals are selective when it comes to what will "hurt" the hobby. Any negative statements involving specific dealers or dealers in general with ALWAYS get you email from certain individuals who believe "our" club belongs only to the dealers. If a dealer is that thin skinned when it comes to discussions of buying up all the chips, etc. then maybe he/she is in the wrong line of work.<g>

The discussions are generally constructive since notification goes out to all who read this board.

I have learned in a short time any type of discussion involving constructive suggestions for change or improvement whether it involve our club, the convention or the hobby in general, etc. are viewed as trouble making statements. After all everything is perfect!!! How dare you should question policy, procedures, system, application or intention of any individual. Consturctive statements are met with "well why don't you do it?" "Submit your suggestion to the board in writing" "Everyone is a volunteer - don't you appreciate what they do?", etc. etc. at nausea.

Finally, those who do care - give up! Worn down by the constant defensive wall to change that is met at every turn. I have never - repeat never ever made a suggestion for change that was not met with resistance. Yet I managed to get approx. 50% of important changes I believed neccesary accomplished via a "NEW" club Constitution. Was it worth it?? I hope so. Take care Rick, Best - Jim
