It is a crying shame that a little over 100 members returned their nomination forms for chip of the year. If anyone wants to complain, I think it should only be the ones that returned nomination forms and then returned ballots. It took only 5 minutes to fill them out and 2 .32 cent stamps.
This is not aimed at posters in this thread. It is a fact. There will be another chip of the year in a few months. Lets see if anything changes.
No two casinos have the same policies on chip releases. That is another fact. AND it is probably not going to change. There are dealers that will send you any LE or rack chips for $2 to $3 over face. There are Las Vegas residents that subscribe to these services. It is cheaper than going to all the casinos and getting them, on their own. These services get all new releases. There are LV collectors that get all new relesases and will trade face for face.
Uniform release policy would be great but unrealistic. On the good side is, casinos are getting better at this. As stated before, the Coast properties have never released an LE of 1,000 chips before. They always have done 2,500 or more. They did not understand what to do with this chip. Even if there were rules, some employees would break them.
