The current issue of Coin World (September 7th issue) has over a 1/4 page article about our club magazine. The headline is "Demolition of Aladdin Casino chronicled in club periodical". The article reports that "the implosion of the Aladdin Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas is the cover story in the July-September issue of Casino Chip and Token News, published by the Casino Chip & Gaming Tokens Collectors Club. Elvis and Priscilla Presley were married there. Neil Diamond opened it's famous theater."
"Kregg L. Herz and Howard W,. Herz chronicled the final hours of the 32 year old, 17-story 1,000 room hotel. The famous landmark has been closed since November, 1997."
"Shortly after sunset on April 27, explosion expers initiated a series of explosions, the hotel buckled and then plunged into a huge cloud of dust. Once the Aladdin site is cleared, construction is expected to begin on a new 2,600 room Aladdin Hotel Casino, along with a second 1,000 room hotel casino."
"A theater and a shopping complex are also planned for the site. The three projects carry a price tag of $1.3 billion with completion set for 2000."
