True story but it doesn't involve chips. Myself and 38 other engineers were sent to Nagoya Japan for 5 weeks training at Mitsubishi Motors. We were given 10,000 yen per day for food (approx. $70 at that time). Even with the high prices in Japan you could eat for $20 per day. So we all went home with about $1500 extra pay for the 5 weeks. The Japanese are paranoid about airport security so they inspected all of our luggage before we left the country. One guy was caught with his suitcase almost filled with toilet paper! Unbelievable.
