The lower denomination chips of .50 thru $20 are made by chipco and the high denoms of $100, $500 and $1000 are bi-metal made by Royce which used to be "Reliable" of San Leandro...also mfgr of Harrahs, Harveys etc. The Grand Opening Gold bi-metals were to be used as gifts in a key ring for special players and also were put into pots as bonus chips ....a collectible...without denomination. They also made a chipco (1000) for the same purpose with a nice tiger on it...no denom.. I delivered these bi-metals just before the opening and bought a set for $1600 with photos of me delivering them at $1 ea. and buying back three for $1600 face. Ha Ha....also put a sign in the cage offering to buy back the bi-metal Gr. Op. Chip and bought 4 at $18-20 each and Chipco tigers at $10-12 each. Only 1500 bimetals made. Late development is that they may replace all the bi-metals with chipcos.....short lived. Have two bimetals left at $30 each and one chipco at $20...Colma is no longer a dead place...I was there last Friday nite and it was jammed. I think every gambling Asian in the Bay Area was there. Every table was full and waiting lists were taken. 30 Pai Gow and Blackjack tables full on one side and all the poker tables FULL!!!!!With that crowd, no wonder all the Grand Opening Chips are gone. Owned by Lucky Tours (buses to Reno and Tahoe). Sundowner Reno owner bought the land, built the building but was off the license because of Nevada License owning Sundowner. More Later
