I certanily am not trying to move the roulette thread down here. BUT, I have never heard of a casino rule that allows waitresses to do what they want to with roulette chips. Most casinos have the rule, they shoild bring them back to the table. If the player that was using them leaves before they bring them back, the waitress will get the minimum buy in for her chips. It makes sense for her to see what the value is and if player is playing a high limit, cash them immeadeatly.
It is not a big deal if something happens to the waitresses roulettes chips, unless a floor man is mad at her and turns her in for not bringing them back.
Waitresses and dealers both work for tips, so it is doubtful a dealer would rat her out.
I don't know if this rule applies everywhere but it is, in one form or the other, pretty standard in LV.
