I know a number of people who make low limit poker their sole source of income and they do okay. Most are props so they're getting paid by the casinos to do what they'd be doing anyway (that's how I ended up on the payroll at the Turf Club in Cripple Creek in '92). I love the game because I have control over what happens to me to a greater extent than anyother form of gaming. It's as you put it, not gambling, if you know what you're doing.
As to Black Jack, I bought into a game last week at the Grand Casino Mille Lacs in Minnesota because they wouldn't sell me chips at the cage. The only way for me to get one of their $2.50 chips was to actually be dealt a blackjack in a live game. It was the first time I'd played BJ in years, but I wanted one of those $2.50's, and got one....
