I can count cards at blackjack but do it very seldom - it is too much work for too little reward. One thing that the "experts" forget to tell you is that when the count is high(in your favor) and YOU get a bust hand(12-16) you also stand a good chance of losing your money before the dealer can bust. It has happened to me too many times. It seems like every time I get a high count and bet more than normal I get the bust hand. It is a lot more fun to know how to play properly, sit at a low minimum table and drink their free drinks and have fun. The key is the low minimum table. Sure you play with a lot of idiots who throw their money away but when that losing streak hits (and it will sooner or later) I sure would rather be at a $3 min table than a $10 or $25 min table. I can play 16 hours per day for a 3 or 4 day trip and be plus or minus $200 or less on most trips. And that includes having "fun" (losing) at the Let It Ride and roulette tables. I know I consume more in beverages than I ever lose<G>. Not to mention the occasional buffet comp.
