The RJ reports that all sinking has stopped thanks to a NJ co drilling hugh steel beams into the sand. I read the count and it was a lot, but do not remember the number. The city of LV is not responcible. Circus Circus is. Mandalay Bay will continue to be built.

If I remember the story right, they expected some sinking and planned for it. just not as much as actually happened. It has to do with the water content of the sand. There is unpotable water under all of LV and it is not too deep. (Unpotable is not the correct word). When Wynn wanted to build canals downtown instead of the FSE, he was going to use this shallow unuseable water. I am under the impression that all buildings in LV sink some.
