John Benedict,
No one is attacking you or putting you down for collecting roulettes. THE SUBJECT IS NOT COLLECTING ROULETTES BUT STEALING ROULETTES. I too have some old roulettes such as the ones you are selling. I see nothing wrong with collecting these chips from closed casinos.
It appears to me every time the subject is discussed it goes from "stealing" to collecting. The two may be indirectly related but in reality have nothing to do with one another.
John you are respected throughout the hobby - pity you believe I and others "put you down" for collecting these historical chips. NOT SO!!!! If YOU go into casinos and take roulette chips than I guess the shoe fits. However, if you like many of us collect and value theses pieces from the past I see nothing wrong with it.
Some will say that the piece was "taken" way back when the casino was open. Maybe, maybe not - look at the strip casinos that closed. They sold off their roulette chips prior to locking the doors.
Again John, I am sorry you feel the way you do. Perhaps it is the way the subject is twisted here on the board. Have a good day - Jim
