Gene, the Fed law would NOT allow the sale of the Lodge GO chips if the only way to obtain them were in the holder at more than face. B Billy's Cripple Creek might have handled the distribution of their Superbowl sets in a manner that could have made more people happy, but at least I paid face for the set, and can go to the cage tomorrow morning and cash in any chip in the set at its face value and wouldn't LOSE money. I could cash 'em all in for $130 and take the empty holder home. That's the difference between the Lodge and anything else done previously.
If the "new" policy of the Lodge is to pull the set from the cage, that would be sorta good news. If they never subjected the general public to a fantasy set that they'd end up giving away as bonus or perk incentives to employees and VIPs (or "jackpot winners") there wouldn't be any problem. If Tony Cook believes that our concerns are trivial enough to chuckle at a Gaming Commission hearing, then state that the only reason that collectors are concerned is because of the COLLECTOR'S profit margin, he can pack that attitude with a broom, put a red cap on his head, and cluck like a rooster. I could triple the face value of the set in the holder as an asking price to another collector, and not come close to the percentage markup that HE chose to sell them as an LE GO set. ...what a jerk!
