I hit the Lac Courte Orielles Casino located near Hayward Wisconsin last weekend during a Northern WI chip restocking run.
The blue $1 H&C chip was no longer in play on the BJ tables, though the white 50c one is still there. I asked the pit boss if they were pulled, and he said there were probably ones left in the cage from people bringing them in. Did I want some, he asked. When I said I would love to get some, he called the cage, asked them to come out and take care of me! A cashier brought one out, asked if this was what I was interested in, and asked how many I'd like. I gave her a couple of $5's and she went back to that cage and got me ten nice looking chips. I don't know if she picked out the best ones, but the fact that there was not one beat-up chip in the ten makes me think so. Was this great service or what? I was able to stay at my $3 BJ table and keep playing. I almost felt guilty that I won their money. Almost...
The chips are out of service, but aparently still worth $1 at the casino. This makes them "almost sort-of" obsolete?
