These have obviously been around for several years but I've never stumbled across them before. The long-distance phone cards that you see now in every grocery and convenience store have now issued in chip form. All these came from Mark Lighterman's table so he can undoubtedly tell us more about them. Some are marked with the Florida United Numismatics show name and I know he has a connection there. All are 5 minutes so they aren't very practical as sales tools for Cable and Wireless. I have fuzzed out the authorization numbers in the pictures so nobody drains the time off these (if there's really any left <g>).
The NASA 15th Anniversary, Texaco, and FUN chips are obviously Chipco's. The others have a shiny surface and I don't know who makes them. With a face value of 5 min, these should sell for less than a dollar. Anyone know whether they are actually sold near this price? Anybody have different ones to sell or trade? I have no traders of these, unfortunately.
