Dear Director Turner,

Mr. Banick is a commercial dealer in chips in Colorado and has a
monthly newletter published by himself. His publication is an
international newsletter which provides announcements of current chipping
activities in the State of Colorado. He is highly respected by chippers
and keeps the CC&GTCC informed of new issues, openings/closings or casinos
and the work of the Gaming Commission. This part of his service is free
and isn't commercial. Below is his commentary about "The Lodge" and his
views regarding selling their chips. This letter was sent through
the CHIPCO bulletin board and is part of the debate on the issue. Again,
this provides the basic insight into the situation and is fundamental to
our concern.

Mel,

The Lodge is a big multi-million dollar casino, that just opened in Black
Hawk Colorado. They are the biggest in the state. They are selling
themselves as the "class" place to gamble. What kind of class place needs to
make a 800% profit selling "souvenir" chips? I will never _ever_ give them
another dime. I encourage other chip collectors who also like to play (Don't
we all???) to take their play money somewhere else. The Lodge has already
taken enough out of my pocket. Several club members have tried to reason
with them but they lay the blame on bad information. I say this is a bunch
of hogwash. If they sold their chips in a frame for face ($31), they would
still make a profit of 100%. I do not and will not accept their lame excuse
and I place all blame for their profiteering on their own rotten greed.

I hope their chips rot in the cage, and I'll bet about 300 sets of them do
just that.
