Hi Jim,
I have to do bulk rate mailings of catelogs from my biz. I don't offer an option for 1st class, and this recent problem with the club mag is an excellent exanple of why I do so. I absorb all of the printing costs, set up (in house), and prep to the USPS.
I received my current edition of the Club Mag bulk mail in plenty of time to participate in the mail-in bids . If the printer screwed up on addresses, it shouldn't be the club's responsibility to cover their butts finacially. The printer holds the bulk of that responsibility if they are also the sender. IF the sender miss-sent the club mag, it is up to the sender to make it right no matter what it costs, and then they should recover the costs of doing so from the source that caused the delay. There are certainly enough lawyers involved in this hobby to handle such a matter on a probono basis.
Bottom line, I don't think I should have to pay an extra $12 a year to get what I'm already paying to get.....and I'm not real happy about my membership expiring Sept 30th.......I got my rookie package 12/27/97. If I would have waited a week, I'd be good for three more months.
