Clyde - Don has provided you with some pretty good information as to shipping chips. I recently read some interesting information in Numismatic News where they mentioned that the only carrier that insures numismatic material (chips and tokens being such) is the United States Postal Service. You may be able to insure a packet or parcel with UPS, Fedex or ...., but if it's lost or damaged, you are out of luck if you report it as being chips. Another tip is to always include something in the packet as to value when you're shipping insured chips through the USPS.
