Jim: I found him finally and wrote him a nice polite letter detailing the history of the chip, inviting him to contact me any time he had a chip with an uncertain attribution and that I would be pleased to try to i.d. it for him. Let's see if the honey approach works--I won't be surprised if it doesn't and that I do not hear from him.
CHIPGUY who may be one of us is also offering a "Nazi" chip and correctly describes it or at least doesn't palm it off as anythign special--he even says:
Actually a fairly common design in America during the first third of this century.
Then, all of a sudden, tens of thousands of these hit the garbage.
