I would pay up to $5, just to say I had one. I understand they can be found at LV flea markets quite often. I've had many new chippers bring them to me and think they have something. They usually have paid $10 to $20. I have offered $5, but it is tough for them to take the loss.
NEVADA MOLD:
I have seen several chippers on the board refer to Borland as owning the Nevada mold at one time. I do not believe this is the case. The Nevada Dice Co was the distributer of the Nevada mold for Burt. I believe Boreland ordered these chips from the NDC the same as he did from Bud Jones. I guess it is possible he owned the NDC, but I doubt it.
The Weave pattern belonged to Penn Speciality also a distributor for Burt. I am not sure when NDC and Penn went out of business. I guess it is possible Boreland ordered these molds direct from Burt, after the distributers stopped selling. The molds were exclusive only while the distributors were in business. Howdy would probably have these dates.
There is definantly a book in the Borland story. There are chippers out there that know the story and believe Borland was the biggest enemy, EVER, to the hobby. I am going to corner one of them, one of these days. Maybe Jerry wall will grant me an interview during the convention.
I hate it when someones knows something that I don't!!!!!!!!!!!!
