To Everyone,
The heat is Las Vegas during the convention should be over 105 degrees. Any chips left in your car,in a binder, with the white 2 1/2" holders and than placed in the plastic sheets will warp!!!
When purchasing chips - look at them very carefully before you pay and leave the dealers table. Some of the dealers will have warpped chips others will not. Obviously it will depend upon how the chips were stored prior to being placed out for sale at the convention.
Heat kills in this town as well as warps chips. I believe there may be a problem with returning warpped chips to the seller. The conversation might go something like this: BUYER: This chip I purchased is warpped and I would like to return it. - SELLER: It was not warpped yesterday so you can't return it. -BUYER: But it is in YOUR original holder -SELLER: I see that but it was not warpped when I sold it to you. - BUYER: I don't care, I want my money back - SELLER: Sorry, there was nothing wrong with that chip when you left my table yesterday.BUYER: I thought you stand behind what you sell? SELLER: I do, but you must have gone outside with that chip and the heat warpped it. I"m not giving you your money back when the problem that is created was your fault!!!
Lesson to be learned. Check the chip you are going to buy very carefully. Ask to take it out of the holder. Lay it down on the showcase glass and press the ends to see if it is laying flat. Since YOU the buyer may be putting out large sums of money for an individual chip - it is YOUR responsibility to check it out. Once purchased, protect it from the heat so it doesn't warp in your posession. This lesson I pass on to you was a costly one for me. Best, Jim
